In 2006, Harris Grant was commissioned by a well-known British author to specify and install a lavish AV system plus environmental controls at her residence just off Kensington High Street in West London.

A top-end Linn hi-fi delivers pristine audio to artfully concealed speakers around the property. Sound and vision – together with heating and lighting – are controlled by an extensive KNX EIB system based on Merten and GIRA components. For good measure, we also created a Macintosh-based office solution for the client, enabling them to work from home.

When the original client moved house earlier this year, the propertyagent contacted Harris Grant to overhaul the original installation and ensure its readiness for the next owner.

We spent a week at the apartment detecting issues and updating hardware to meet latest requirements. A further week was spent re-coding the entire networking and control system from scratch. The result: an impeccable, fully functioning solution – good, we hope, for another ten years of sterling service.
